Issue 279, May 11, 2025
Moms are truly special. They inspire, encourage, nurture, sacrifice, defend, and protect us.
The modern-day celebration of Mother’s Day here in America stems back to Julia Ward Howe and Anna Javis. Julia Ward wrote a call to action for mothers to promote world peace.
Anna Javis used Mothers Work Clubs to improve public health. Inspired by her mother’s legacy, Anna spearheaded the national Mother’s Day Movement culminating in President Wilsons proclamation in 1914.
If you are lucky enough to still have your Mom, take time to celebrate and thank her for all she has done for you. She will appreciate the card, flowers, and brunch. If she is like my wife, she will like the mimosas. More importantly, she will appreciate the time you spend with her.
Happy Mother’s Day! I look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting.
This year promises to be an exciting one for our club, with a wide range of activities planned.
There will be outstanding network opportunities, along with engaging events and activities for families.
Sincerely,
Ken Petsch
