Issue 284, June 15, 2025

Today, June 15th, would have been my father’s 92nd birthday, He left to be with the Lord in 1994, Not a day goes by that I don’t stop and think about him. Especially today when his birthday and Father’s Day fall on the same day. He would always say it was like being born on Christmas, and that you should get gifts for both his birthday and Father’s Day. Which meant two separate gifts.

Of course we always made sure that he received a gift for his birthday and one for Father’s Day. Here are a few that I can remember:

Father’s Day                                                                            Birthday
Left Slipper                                                                                      Right Slipper
Flashlight                                                                                         Batteries
Shampoo                                                                                          Conditioner
Beer                                                                                                   Beer Mug

OK, the last one he didn’t complain about.

My Dad was a lot of fun. He always had a smile on his face, and was always willing to lend a hand. He was hard working and loyal to his friends and family. He left us all with a sense of humor, which I hope I have passed onto my two sons.

I have been called many things and held many titles in my life. From younger brother to older brother, paper boy, the middle child, truck driver, crane operator, sales representative, President, to business owner. But my favorite title has and always will be Dad.

Whether you’re a father yourself, remembering your own, or playing that role in someone else’s life, your impact is lasting and profound. As a club that values tradition, mentorship, and legacy, we encourage all members to take a moment to reflect on the values passed down through generations, and how we can continue to pass them forward.

Happy Father’s Day!
