“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” – Proverbs 29:18
Dear Members,
As we journey through 2025, I want to speak to you about something that has shaped great enterprises, transformed communities, and guided our Club for nearly a century: Vision.
Vision is more than ambition or planning — it is the ability to see past the horizon and believe in what is not yet visible. As business leaders, vision fuels our decisions, drives innovation, and sets the foundation for the legacies we leave behind.
Here at the Southside Businessmen’s Club, we stand on the shoulders of visionary men who, in 1932, looked beyond the challenges of their time and planted the seeds for a lasting civic tradition. Their foresight created an institution that has endured depression, war, and growth — all while fostering leadership, networking, and civic responsibility in Jacksonville
In today’s rapidly changing economic and technological landscape, vision is no longer optional — it’s essential. Our members lead companies, serve communities, and build families. You shape what Jacksonville becomes tomorrow. And so, I challenge each of us to think boldly:
· What is your personal and professional vision?
· How does your business contribute to the greater good?
· What role will you play in shaping Jacksonville’s next chapter?
We, too, must evolve. This year, the Board is focusing on:
✅ Engaging a new generation of business leaders while honoring our traditions
✅ Deepening partnerships with civic and nonprofit leaders
✅ Hosting thought leaders to inspire and educate
✅ Reinforcing our commitment to integrity, leadership, and service
As we move toward our 100th anniversary, let’s recommit ourselves to a shared vision of progress, character, and community. The best way to predict the future is to create it — together.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Sincerely,
Ken Petsch
2025 President
