“Hurricane season brings a humbling reminder that, despite our technologies,
most of nature remains unpredictable.”
— Diane Ackerman
The start of hurricane season is upon us, bringing with it the annual reminder for coastal communities to be prepared for hurricanes by stocking up on emergency supplies, creating a family evacuation plan, securing homes, & staying informed through reliable weather updates. While the early weeks often feature milder systems, experts caution that the worst of the season is coming later in the season, September being the most active, when warmer ocean waters & favorable atmospheric conditions typically spawn the most powerful & destructive storms. We should use this time to get ready now, ensuring they’re not caught off guard when peak intensity arrives.
What is on your hurricane preparedness list?
