Issue 220, March 20, 2024

As spring unfolds, we were graced with nearly perfect weather at TPC last week, where our refreshment tent fundraiser saw tremendous success. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed their time and efforts!

We had the pleasure of hosting Bob Orhablo from the Jacksonville Icemen last week, who shared his journey to ownership and the enhancements made to “The Igloo.” We’re excited to have a group of 59 members, family, and friends ready for the upcoming Saturday evening game. We can’t wait to see you all there!

Looking ahead, next week we’ll be delighted to welcome Ken Babby, the Owner of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, as our guest speaker.

Please note, for our next regular meeting, we’ll be gathering at Maggiano’s at the Town Center. This is a one-time change, and subsequent meetings for the rest of the year will return to the San Jose Country Club.

After careful deliberation, the board has decided to adjust our meeting pricing to cover venue and food costs more adequately. We emphasize that the club does not profit from these gatherings and has historically absorbed losses to maintain reasonable fees. The new meeting prices are as follows: Members will now pay $45 if pre-registered or $50 at the door. For Non-Members, the fees are $50 pre-registered and $55 at the door. Please note, we have eliminated the no-lunch option, and no credits will be issued for no-shows.

To ensure accurate catering needs, we ask that you pre-register by this Friday for next week’s meeting. This will help us provide a precise attendee count to our venue by the preceding Friday.

Warmest regards,
Michael Best
2024 President
