Issue 303, October 20, 2025
| Dear Members,
It’s hard to believe that after this week’s meeting, we only have two meetings left this year—one each in November and December! But that doesn’t mean our work is done. We have a busy few months ahead with great opportunities to support our Club, our community, and to network with fellow members. Last week’s Tailgate Party kicked off our third quarter (yes, lots of football puns there). It was a fantastic event where we enjoyed good company and supported the USS Orleck. Before the year ends, we’ll continue giving back through our participation in Deck the Chairs, held at the Jacksonville Beach Seawalk Pavilion. This festive event benefits children’s arts and education programs. You can find more information about our display in this newsletter and at SBMCJAX.com. On December 6th, we’ll host our annual Kids Holiday Shopping Spree, benefiting underprivileged children from City Rescue Mission and Daniel. This heartwarming event is one of our most meaningful traditions, and we encourage all members to get involved. Sign up as a volunteer or sponsor a child by visiting SBMCJAX.com. Then, on December 13th, get ready to set sail for our SBMC Christmas & Holiday Party—aboard the USS SBMC, departing from the Marriott Hotel on the Southbank of the St. Johns River. Come dressed in your favorite cruise wear or formal attire—the choice is yours! Have your photo taken with the Captain before testing your luck in the casino for a chance to win exciting prizes. Don’t forget to try our signature cocktail served in a tropical souvenir glass before enjoying a delicious buffet. You’ll also be able to step out onto the hotel’s rooftop terrace to take in the stunning views of downtown Jacksonville while enjoying a cocktail—and perhaps a cigar. We have so much in store for you, our valued members. Get involved, invite a friend, and let’s have some fun—all while doing good! Warm regards, Ken Petsch |
