“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
It’s finally cooling off and cuddle weather is close at hand. Pools are closing, evenings are starting to feel like something you can actually sit outside for and the heavy summer air is loosening its grip on our days. That is a window worth opening. Get outside before the novelty wears off and we are all wishing it were hot again; go on walks, sit on your patio, enjoy this weekend at the beach while the water is still warm and the crowds have thinned.
Meanwhile the stores have already jumped the season. Shelves are filling with Christmas decorations while Halloween is still weeks away and Thanksgiving has barely been acknowledged. Whatever happened to letting one holiday finish before the next one starts? The same skipped feeling shows up in the weather. Hurricane season is not over, but no major storm has hit Florida this year, and the quiet has been easy to take for granted. Enjoy the milder days while they last. They never stay this comfortable for long.
